Terms of Use
By using Basic QR you agree to these terms. Please read them.
Last updated: October 2026
1. Using Basic QR
Basic QR is a free tool for designing and downloading QR codes. You may use it for personal or business purposes, as long as you follow these terms and the law.
2. Your content and responsibility
You are responsible for what you encode in a QR code and for how you use it. Do not use Basic QR to create codes that link to illegal, deceptive, harmful or infringing content, including phishing, malware or scams. You must have the right to use any logo or image you upload.
3. Static QR codes
Basic QR creates static QR codes. The content is stored inside the code itself. We cannot edit, track or disable a code after you download it, and we do not keep a copy of it.
4. Export passes and sponsor breaks
Standard PNG downloads are free. High-resolution exports (4K PNG, SVG, PDF) require an export pass. A pass is granted when the 15-second sponsor break completes and allows 2 high-resolution downloads within 20 minutes. The pass is granted whether or not an advertisement is displayed to you. We may change the duration, number of downloads or other pass rules at any time.
5. Scan reliability
We provide a live scan check and contrast rating as a convenience. They do not guarantee that a printed or displayed code will scan on every device, in every lighting condition or at every size. Always test your final QR code before printing or publishing it.
6. Intellectual property
You keep ownership of the content and designs you create. The Basic QR name, logo, site design and code are owned by their respective owners and may not be copied as your own.
7. Third-party services
The site relies on third-party services such as hosting, fonts and advertising. They are governed by their own terms and policies. See the Privacy Policy.
8. No warranty
Basic QR is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. We do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses arising from a QR code that fails to scan, links to a wrong destination, or is misused.
10. Changes and contact
We may update these terms as the service changes. Continued use after an update means you accept the new terms. For questions, visit the contact page.
